Since its inception in 1999, the core business of CFF has always been based around commissions involving historic wooden objects. This occasionally involves delicate on-site work on furniture or architectural joinery but primarily studio-based work on portable objects.
Work can take the form of minor regluing operations taking no longer than perhaps an hour or much larger scale projects that can take up to 3 or 4 months to complete. Most aspects of the work involved is undertaken in our well-equipped studio but we regularly employ the services of other specialists. Over the years we have nurtured good relationships with many other restorer/conservators specialising in upholstery, fine metals, gilding and book binding to name but a few.
We offer a holistic service to our clients eliminating the need to source other trades required for particular projects.
We are also pleased to work as an intermediary for many clients who wish to buy and sell antique items. We have a wide network of contacts in the trade who may be interested in.
